Events and Programs Calendar
Bear Hollow Wildlife Trail is open daily from 9 a.m. to sunset. Meander down the trail and see interesting Georgia wildlife including eagles, deer, black bear, otters and many more in their natural habitat. Zoo Apprentice Program (ZAP)-Discover what it takes to be a zookeeper during this 3-Saturday educational session. Participants will feed the resident animals, clean exhibits and learn about our wildlife. Participants receive a T-shirt and their name on a plaque in the zoo. For ages: 9-12 Dates: Sat. Sept. 13, 20 and 27 or Nov. 8, 15 and 22 Hours: 1:00-4:00 p.m. Fee: $0-$20 ACC Residents (dependent on scholarship eligibility), $27 Non-ACC Residents

Raptor Training 101-Participants will learn about the care and handling of the educational birds of prey. The program will include teaching participants and also teaching the birds how to behave in a program setting through repetitive handling. For ages: Adults only Dates: Beginning Saturday, Sept. 13 Hours: 10:00 a.m. Fee: No charge however all participants will be required to volunteer for al least 4 hours per month after completion of the class.

KIDS IN ACTION!-Volunteer in the zoo along with staff on a special project. All volunteers must be comfortable around mammals, birds and reptiles. All must not be afraid of hard work. Volunteers will be closely supervised. Each volunteer will receive a Bear Hollow T-shirt upon completion of the program. Volunteers will also present a program to parents on the last day! Ages: 9-12 Program Dates: Tuesdays, beginning Sept. 16  Time: 3:30-5:00 p.m. Location: Zoo Operations Center 706-613-3616 ext 22 Registration dates: Sept. 1 until full; limited space; Pre-registration required! WEE TODDLE THROUGH THE PARK-Join us for a special series of programs for toddlers and their parents. Dance, make music and toddle about as we explore Memorial Park's lake, trail and the zoo. Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Ages: 2-3; parents must accompany! Program Dates: Thursdays, beginning Sept. 18 Time: 9:30 a.m. Location: Zoo Operations Center 706-613-3616 ext 22 Registration Dates: Sept. 1 until full; Pre-registration required! Fee: $0-$18/ACC residents (depending upon scholarship eligibility), $27 Non-ACC residents.

Zoo Parties-Have your birthday or other fun party at Bear Hollow's Operations Center. Three packages are available and some include specialty cakes in the shape of animals. All parties include a Zoo Tour and a T-shirt for the birthday person. Ages: For all ages, Program dates: Saturday or Sunday. Time: 10:00-1:00 or 2:00-5:00. Registration: At the Memorial Park Office (706-613-3580), parties are held at the Zoo Operations Center (706-613-3616). Fee: $75-$135, depending upon the package selected.


Sunday Open Exhibit Hall-
You can explore the Exhibit Hall and visit with some of the animals used in programs such as the salamanders, pond turtles, snakes and more. The classroom will be open on the Sunday afternoons from 1-4 p.m. Free and open to the public.

SCOUTING FOR SCOUTS! -
We are offering a variety of scout programs for organized scout groups of all ages. All the leaders have to do is call us to set a date and time, and we’ll take care of the rest, including the badges! Please call for more information.

GROUP PROGRAMS -
A variety of topics are available from birds of prey to creatures of the night depending upon interest. Programs can be oriented to any age level. Call for information and reservations. The fee is $2 for ACC residents and $3 for Non-ACC residents.
